US startup's FPV drone detection system is tested in Ukraine – photo, video

A prototype system to detect enemy first-person view (FPV) drones designed by US defence tech startup Surtr has been tested in Ukraine.
Source: Brave1, a Ukrainian defence tech cluster
Details: The technology is AI-powered. The system combines data from acoustic and optical sensors into a unified map so that aerial assets can be detected and tracked in real time.
The US-developed solution was tested as part of the Test in Ukraine programme.
Quote: "The test results demonstrated a good level of technological maturity for a prototype. The developers have already received feedback from Ukrainian military personnel and Brave1, which will help them further develop and adapt the system for real combat use."
Details: Surtr develops systems that combine data from multiple battlefield sources into a single solution. The startup is developing ParallaxOS, described as a technology for "multi-sensor fusion, autonomous track correlation, AI threat classification with millisecond latency at the tactical edge".

Background:
- Dutch company Fiducial Defense has tested its own automatic drone targeting system in Ukraine. The solution was tested on the Vovkulaka interceptor drone.
- Brave1 and the French Defence Innovation Agency (AID) have also launched Brave France, a joint initiative to support defence startups.
