Russia attacks Ukraine with 161 drones, air defence downs 122

Russia attacked Ukraine with 161 drones of various types, some of which were jet-powered, on the night of 22-23 September. Air defence forces have downed 122 UAVs.

Quote: "As of 08:00, [Ukrainian] air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 119 Shahed, Gerbera and drones of other types as well as three Banderol/Dan-T drone-launched missiles.

Hits by aerial assets have been recorded at 18 locations and downed aerial assets (debris) landed at eight locations."

Details: On the night of 22-23 September (from 18:00 on 22 September), Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 161 Shahed (82 of them jet-powered) and Gerbera attack drones, Parodiya decoy UAVs and Banderol/Dan-T drone missiles. The weapons were launched from the Russian cities of Oryol, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Millerovo as well as from temporarily occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in Crimea.

The attack is ongoing, as several Russian drones are still in Ukrainian airspace.

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.
