Details: According to the Washington Post, citing the official Chinese government statement, the two leaders exchanged views on global and regional issues during their White House meeting, including the situation in the Middle East, Ukraine and the Korean Peninsula.

The statement also said that Xi and Trump had supported holding regional meetings in the coming weeks.

It noted that China will host the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in November, while the US will host the G20 summit in Florida this year. However, the statement did not say whether the leaders would attend these summits.

Xi also said that they had agreed to develop "constructive strategic and stable China-US relationship". He noted that such relations will benefit not only the Chinese and American peoples but people around the world.
