Polish defence minister details Russian strike near border with Poland

A Russian jet-powered drone has struck Ukrainian territory approximately 2 km from the border crossing with Poland located in Dorohusk.

Details: Kosiniak-Kamysz said that Russian strike drones attacked western regions of Ukraine on 28 September.

"A jet-powered drone struck on the Ukrainian side, approximately 2 km from the border crossing with Poland in Dorohusk," the minister said.

He noted that Polish airspace had not been violated. "Our air defence systems and aircraft were ready for action," Kosiniak-Kamysz added

After the all-clear was given, the aircraft returned to their bases, while air defence systems returned to surveillance and standby mode.

Background:

In the second half of the day on 28 September, it became known that Polish military aircraft had been deployed in response to Russian drone attacks on Ukraine.
It was also reported that the airports in Rzeszów and Lublin had suspended operations.
Later, it was reported that a Russian drone had struck near the Yahodyn border crossing in Volyn Oblast on the border with Poland.
