In Kharkiv region, fifth casualty from bombing found under rubble

The death toll has risen to 5 people in the village of Slobozhanske in the Kharkiv region, which was bombed on the night of 10 March, as rescuers found another body under the rubble.

According to the SES: "During the 24 hours from 11 to 12 March, rescuers of the Kharkiv garrison of the SES continued to perform their duties under wartime conditions. The invaders carried out shelling and aerial bombardment of various objects in residential areas of Kharkiv and villages in the region."

Details: On 11 March, the search continued for the bodies of people killed in the bombing on the night of 9-10 March, when an air bomb hit a 2-storey residential building on Centralna Street in the village of Slobozhanske.

The bodies of 5 people were retrieved from under the rubble: two women (45-47 years old and 35-37 years old), a man (under 40 years old) and two children (2 years old and 12-14 years old). The search continued on 10 and 11 March.

Four people were reported dead on Friday morning.

In total, in just one day, rescuers made more than 40 trips to extinguish fires and clear the rubble of destroyed buildings. In total, about 50 units of fire and rescue equipment and about 200 personnel were involved.

Bomb disposal experts are working across the region to diffuse artillery ammunition. About 40 sites were found with explosive devices that were detonated and unexploded.
