Verbatim: "I always thought that Israeli citizens don’t need an explanation: what does it mean to be in a war, when residential neighborhoods are bombed, when humanitarian columns are shelled, when a cargo of water and medicine is not allowed in besieged cities, or when civilians are abducted as in this particular case with an Israeli family in Melitopol."

"And if Israel understands all this, why do they indirectly support the Russians? (...)"

"One should not conceal this: Ukrainian Jews and other Ukrainians are disappointed with Israel's position and tone in the issue of the Ukrainian-Russian war. "

Background: Russian military personnel abducted several representatives of a local media holding in Melitopol on the morning of March 21, including the Kumkov family. They had been released later in the afternoon.

The European Union, in contrast to Israel, opened borders for refugees from Ukraine.

The Israeli government suspended visa-free travel for Ukrainian citizens and introduced mandatory registration through an electronic monitoring system on March 15, despite an increase in the number of internally displaced persons from Ukraine.
