According to Kim: "The night passed quietly, despite occasional enemy fire. Russian troops are gathering near the village of Halytsynove and the town of Bashtanka, preparing to advance. We are getting ready to fight them off. The city is calm. Yesterday I was out, checking what the situation is like in the city – I drove around, looked around, checked in on our troops – well, everything is calm, lots of equipment working. Looters are scared – as they should be."

Details: The Head of the Mykolayiv Regional Military Administration also said that the road patrol have confiscated three cars from drunk drivers in the last two days and are using them for the army's needs.

Kim added that according to his sources, "Russian troops were planning to advance through Mykolayiv three days ago, take everything between Mykolayiv and Artsyz near Odessa, and set up camp there."

"Well, both Odessa and us are still standing, disrupting the enemy’s plans. It seems that maybe Putin’s supplies are really drying up, his is not a bottomless barrel," Kim summed up.

Background:

  • On 4 March, fighting continued between the Ukrainian defenders and the Russian invaders on the outskirts of Mykolayiv. Ukraine’s Armed Forces drove out Russian military units from the Kulbakine airfield.
  • Later on, the Russian troops withdrew from Kulbakine airfield towards the aircraft repair plant. There are no Russian troops in the city of Mykolayiv itself.
