Russian troops shell patrol police in Lysychansk: 6 police workers hospitalised

Russian occupying forces have shelled the patrol police building in Lysychansk; 6 police workers were hospitalised with injuries.

According to Haidai: "At 20:40 yesterday [on 17 April] an artillery shelling of Lysychansk took place. Several Russian shells hit the administrative building of the Regional Patrol Police Headquarters. 6 members of staff were hospitalised with acute injuries."

Background:

  • Earlier Serhiy Haidai urged residents of the Luhansk region to evacuate while it is still possible. He asked Ukrainian civilians to take more responsibility for their lives and leave the area where the fighting is taking place.

On 8 April, Haidai announced that Russia had almost completed the regrouping of its troops in the Luhansk region in preparation for a large-scale battle for the Ukrainian Donbas.
