Two-year-old girl dies in Bahmut – now there are 231 child war victims

According to official data from juvenile prosecutors, as a result of Russia’s full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine, at least 231 children have been killed and 427 injured. In reality, there may be more victims.

Details: On May 17, the Russian military shelled Bahmut of the Donetsk region. As a result of a missile strike on a residential building, children aged 9, 12 and 17 years old were seriously injured. On May 18, rescuers found the bodies of a woman and a 2-year-old child under the rubble of the destroyed house

The death of a 17-year-old girl has been reported in the town of Polohy, in Zaporizhzhia - a result of shelling of the civil infrastructure by the aggressor.

On May 16, on a highway in the Mykolaiv region, eight people, including a 5-year-old girl, were injured when a landmine exploded. Their injuries varied in severity.

As of the morning of 19 May, at least 658 children in Ukraine have suffered from the Russian aggression. These numbers are not final, as work is under way to establish them in places of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

Children suffered the most in the following areas: Donetsk - 144, Kyiv - 116, Kharkiv - 100, Chernihiv - 68, Kherson - 48, Luhansk - 47, Mykolaiv - 44, Zaporizhia - 28, Sumy - 17, Zhytomyr - 15. And in the city of Kyiv 16 children were injured.
