Quote: "Today, the aggressors shelled Kharkiv again. So far, the list of the deceased includes nine people. 19 people were injured, all of them civilians. A baby (five months old) and a father have been killed. The mother is in a serious condition. A nine-year-old girl is among the injured in Kharkiv.

Missile strikes once again targeted the Sumy region, and Donbas again. The aggressors significantly intensified their artillery operations in Zaporizhzhia Oblast again. They are trying to sink their teeth into the land in the south again.

Pressure on Russia is literally a matter of saving lives. And every day of delay, weakness, various disputes or proposals to ‘appease’ the aggressor at the expense of the victim all these mean new Ukrainians are killed.  And these are new threats to everyone on our continent."

Background: Air-raid sirens were sounded 7 times since the beginning of the day in Kharkiv and Kharkiv Oblast on 26 May. The Military Administration informed residents about the threat of  artillery shelling in the city and Oblast at 14:43.

On 26 May, eyewitnesses told reporters that the Russian aggressors had resumed shelling of Kharkiv's civilian infrastructure and suburbs using artillery. It was reported that 7 civilians had been killed and 17 people were injured, including a 9-year-old child.

Ukrainian defenders are gradually driving the aggressors out of Kharkiv Oblast so that Russian artillery can no longer fire on Kharkiv.

People started to return to the city about a week ago.
