The Russian occupying forces are shelling Kharkiv; 9 people are currently known to be dead.

Details: The head of the Kharkiv Oblast Military called on citizens not to be on the streets without urgent necessity: "Listen to the air raid alerts and be in shelters during such alerts."

Ukrainska Pravda’s source in the region's leadership noted that the Russians were shelling from the territory of Belgorod Oblast (Russia).

In addition, Syniehubov added that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are pursuing the occupiers: "Fierce fighting continues in the north, northeast and on the Izium front. Russian troops are suffering heavy losses."

What happened before:

Since the beginning of the day, the air raid signal has been sounded 7 times in Kharkiv and the region. At 14:43 the military administration informed the population that the threat of artillery shelling in the city and region continues.

On 26 May, eyewitnesses told reporters that the Russian occupiers had resumed shelling of Kharkiv's civilian infrastructure and suburbs with artillery.

Ukrainian defenders are gradually pushing the enemy out of the Kharkiv region, so that Russian artillery cannot fire on Kharkiv.

About a week ago, people began to return to the city.

Background: 

On 25 May, the Russian occupiers fired on civilians in captured Balaklia in the Kharkiv region, killing one elderly man and seriously injuring a 9-year-old girl.

In total, during the day on May 25, the Russians caused ten fires in settlements of the Kharkiv region.
