In an attempt to neutralise their own equipment, therefore rendering themselves unable to travel to the frontline, Russian troops in the Donetsk region have tried to sell air defence componentes for scrap.

Quote from the Chief Intelligence Directorate: "In order to not get the front, the commanders of one of the batteries of the 933rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment of the occupying forces decided to make their equipment incapable. The invaders removed control units from Tor-M2U combat vehicles and decided to sell them for scrap at a metals collection point."

Details: According to intelligence, "the greed of Russians, as always, let them down" – they demanded too high of a price and came into conflict with the receptionist at the scrap collection point. In turn, she immediately reported the "businessmen" to the so-called "Ministry of State Security" of the "Donetsk People’s Republic."

The Chief Intelligence Directorate reported that, now, the regiment's command explains the loss of the electronic units as resulting from hostilities, and that the occupiers who wanted to hand over metal components continue to serve in infantry units on the front line.

The scouts also published a list of the command staff of the 933rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment of the 150th Motor Rifle Division of the 8th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District operating on the Donetsk front.

"All war criminals will be exposed and prosecuted for crimes against the civilian population of Ukraine," the Chief Intelligence Directorate summed up.

Background:

The Security Service of Ukraine published earlier the intercepted telephone conversation between Russians, testifying that the occupiers refused to attack because they were afraid of a direct confrontation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
