Kremenchuk shopping centre attack: death toll rises to 18

The number of people killed in Russia’s attack on the Amstor shopping centre in Kremenchuk has risen to 18.

Updated. Quote from Serhii Kruk, head of the SES: "We currently know that 16 people have been killed and 59 injured, including 25 who have been hospitalised. The information is being updated."

Updated at 06:50 on 28 June. Quote from Lunin: "18 fatalities…My sincere condolences to their relatives and loved ones. Rescuers continue to work [at the scene of the attack - ed.]."

Background: On 27 June, the Russians launched two missile strikes on the Amstor shopping centre in Kremenchuk. It was reported that 13 people were killed and over 40 were injured.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that many people were able to evacuate from the Kremenchuk shopping centre before it was hit by a Russian missile.

Over 40 people have been reported missing by their relatives following the Russian missile strike on the shopping centre in Kremenchuk, Poltava Oblast.
