At least 263 children killed in Russia’s war against Ukraine

The number of children confirmed killed in Russia’s war against Ukraine has reached 263, after the death of a young boy who died when a mine exploded on a Mariupol beach.

Details: On 3 June, two civilians – including an eight-year-old boy – were killed when a mine exploded on a beach in Mariupol in Donetsk Oblast.

As of the morning of 7 June, at least 730 children have become casualties in Russia’s full-scale military aggression in Ukraine. According to official information from prosecutors of crimes against juveniles, 263 children have been killed and over 467 children have sustained injuries.

These numbers are not definitive, as work continues to establish the number of casualties in areas of active hostilities and in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories of Ukraine.

According to the available data, the largest number of children have been affected in Donetsk Oblast (190), Kyiv Oblast (116), Kharkiv Oblast (112), Chernihiv Oblast (68), Luhansk Oblast (53), Kherson Oblast (52), Mykolaiv Oblast (47), Zaporizhzhia Oblast (29), Sumy Oblast (17), the city of Kyiv (16), and Zhytomyr Oblast (15).
