New explosions in Crimea: Blasts rock Yevpatoriia

Several explosions rocked the village of Zaozerne, near the city of Yevpatoriia in western Crimea. Russian occupation authorities have reported that their air defence was activated and struck its target.

Quote from Chubarov: "Explosions were also heard over the village of Zaozerne (on the outskirts of Yevpatoriia). Looks like the Russians are trying to get rid of a UAV. We’re awaiting more information."

Details: Meanwhile, Sergey Aksyonov, so-called "head" of Russian-occupied Crimea, has reported that the Russian air defence systems in western Crimea were activated and have struck their target.

He said there were no casualties or structural damage.

Aksyonov urged the residents of Crimea to remain calm and "only trust official sources."

Background: On the morning of 20 August, following a new explosion in Sevastopol, Russian occupation authorities claimed that a UAV had been brought down over the roof of the Black Sea Fleet headquarters.
