Details: Russia’s Federal Security Service claimed that Bohdan Tsyhanenko, a Ukrainian citizen born in 1978, arrived in Russia via Estonia on 30 July, and left the Russian Federation a day before Dugina's death.

Tsyhanenko allegedly provided Vovk with fake licence plates and documents under the name of Yuliia Zaiko, a citizen of Kazakhstan. According to the FSB, he and Vovk assembled an improvised explosive device in a rented garage on the southwest side of Moscow.

Additionally, the Federal Security Service noted that they have surveillance camera recordings of Tsyhanenko entering Russia, driving a car with Natalia, procuring the fake licence plates and driving away.

Background:

  • On 20 August, a car driven by Darya Dugina exploded not far from Moscow. Dugina was the daughter of "Putin’s Rasputin" Aleksandr Dugin; she wrote about politics for Tsargrad and RT, two Russian Kremlin-aligned media outlets.
  • The Office of the President of Ukraine denied any involvement of Kyiv in Dugina’s assassination.
  • The FSB of the Russian Federation claimed that Ukrainian Natalia Vovk, who allegedly had served in the Azov battalion, was responsible for the explosion; the soldiers of the regiment denied this.
  • Oleksii Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, said that the murder of Darya Dugina, daughter of the Kremlin ideologue Aleksandr Dugin, was performed by Russian secret services and that Ukraine has nothing to do with it.
  • The Investigative Committee of the aggressor country reported that they also investigated the involvement of other persons in Dugina’s death.
