Details: At about 10:00, the press service of the metro reported that "for technical reasons, traffic on the lines of Kharkiv subway was temporarily stopped."

Furthermore, ground electric transport in Kharkiv temporarily stopped working due to a voltage drop in the network; Yevhen Vodovozov, the Deputy Mayor of Kharkiv, confirmed that to Suspilne.

According to Suspilne reporters,  there were power outages in various districts of Kharkiv and the Oblast. Kharkiv residents report either a decrease in voltage or lack of power supply.

Background:

  • On 12 September, the Russians launched a missile strike on Kharkiv, after which the power supply was lost and the metro traffic was halted.
  • Since 10 October, Russia has been attacking the energy system of Ukraine, launching dozens of missiles and strike drones and targeting electricity generation and distribution facilities in various regions. A week ago, the light disappeared in Kharkiv and the Oblast because of these attacks.
  • On the morning of 17 October, the Russians attacked Kyiv with kamikaze drones and also fired missiles at critical infrastructure targets in Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa Oblasts.
