Air-raid siren in Ukraine, more than 50 Russian missiles launched

The morning of 16 December started with an air-raid siren sounding throughout Ukraine. Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv Oblast Military Administration, has said that about 60 missiles were launched.

Quote from Kim:  "The first missiles are coming in. We expect about 60. They are already over the territory of Ukraine in the north."

Details: An air-raid siren was sounded in the east of the country at 08:00, then spread to the entire left bank [of the Dnipro river]. At 08:10 an air-raid siren was sounded in Kyiv, then in Zhytomyr and Vinnytsia oblasts.

As of 08:15, air-raid sirens were sounding in 16 oblasts. At 08:33, air-raid sirens were sounded throughout Ukraine.

Telegram channels reported that Russia had launched Kh-101 missiles.

An air-raid siren means there is a threat of missile strikes. Residents are advised to take cover.
