Air Force counts 67 drones in last 4 attacks

The Russians have launched 67 attack drones on the territory of Ukraine in the last four waves of attacks using Iranian-made drones.

Details: When asked if Russia could simultaneously launch 220 Iranian drones from the new batch left over from the last attack, Ihnat clarified that the president was talking about 250 drones from the new batch; but is unsure whether to count the remainder from the last 35 or from the four waves which were launched after a long pause "and that’s 67 UAVs, counted today."

"Maybe, it's obvious (to use all of them at once), but do they have a need for it?", said Ihnat.

He added that each downing of a drone can be welcomed despite the depletion of air defence, because even a few hits lead to bad consequences.

Ihnat explained that Ukraine's reserves are not eternal either.

Quote: "Russia is the only manufacturer of missiles for the Buk-M1 and S-300. And it is these systems that today are the main air shield that protects our skies from, first of all, Russian aircraft, which does not appear here. Also they are the primary shield against cruise missiles and Shaheds. Depletion applies to combat equipment, radar stations, and ammunition. These are being worn out by relatively cheap strike UAVs that we have to respond to.

We will respond with anti-aircraft missile systems, fighter aircraft, and mobile firing units... Of course, a cruise missile, 400 kilograms of explosives, and Shahed weighing up to 40 kilograms have somewhat different capabilities, but both are dangerous, especially for critical infrastructure facilities".

Details: Ukraine can also rely on two NASAMS batteries and one IRIS-T battery, but these are not enough to cover the front line, Ihnat said.

Background: The Russians carried out the latest drone attacks from the Sea of Azov and, according to the Ukrainian authorities, they were using drones from a new batch from Iran.

The situation with the electricity supply worsened even further after the latest attack on the night of 18-19 December, especially in the capital and Kyiv Oblast.
