Bakhmut front is one of toughest: 28 armed confrontations and 225 artillery attacks in one day

The Eastern front is currently the epicentre of Ukraine’s armed resistance against Russians, with the Bakhmut and Avdiivka fronts and some parts of Luhansk Oblast being the main hotspots.

Source: Serhii Cherevatyi, spokesperson of the Eastern grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in the 24/7 national newscast, cited by Army Inform outlet.

Quote: "For instance, on the Bakhmut front alone, 28 armed confrontations and 225 attacks with artillery of different calibres and tanks took place in one day.

90 occupiers were killed and nearly 110 injured. Thus, the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not allow Russians to breach our defence thanks to their courage and coordination and constantly make Russians suffer losses."

Details: Cherevatyi supposed that Russians may slow down their combat activity due to their huge losses, exhaustion of the troops, severe weather conditions and stubbornness of the Ukrainian defence. In turn, further actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will depend on the operative situation.

Cherevatyi stated that the situation on the Luhansk front gives grounds for optimism, but at first, the defence forces of Ukraine have to fulfil their plans.

Quote: "There is a certain momentum of victory there. People have been waiting for progress, and this progress was happening – reasonably, thoughtfully and competently. Our units were constantly moving and doing something to continue this movement, considering the fact that Russians had been systematically strengthening their positions there.

This movement continues. There are grounds for optimism on this front. Step by step, our troops are doing what needs to be done to liberate metres and kilometres of our land. Our professional units are working there, including the Air Assault Forces, probably one of the best in the world."
