The SSU notes that the man had been recruited by the Russian secret service to conduct reconnaissance and subversive activities against Ukraine at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

At first, on Russia’s task, the traitor collected information on the location of strategic facilities in Ukraine's southeast.

In addition, he proposed his assistance to the representatives of the aggressor country in the development of the latest radar installation based on information about the Ukrainian radar, the intelligence service reported.

Under the guise of a "business trip", the collaborator travelled to Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia to identify energy facilities and railway infrastructure, on which Russian forces carried out missile attacks.

He was to inspect their technical condition and the level of possible damage and prepare a "report" for the FSB.

His next "trip" was to Lviv Oblast, where he tried to establish the location of critical infrastructure facilities.

The received information was to be sent to the Russian secret service in the form of electronic coordinates and georeferenced photos.

Russian forces needed the intelligence information to prepare and conduct a series of targeted missile strikes on the territory of Lviv Oblast, the SSU emphasises.

The Counterintelligence detained a man in an attempt to pass classified information to the aggressor.

A mobile phone with evidence of correspondence with Russia and symbols of the Communist totalitarian regime have been found during the search.

The offender has been notified that he was under suspicion of high treason and justification of the armed aggression against Ukraine. The court ordered the arrest of the suspect without the alternative of bail.

Investigative actions are underway.
