Strengthening of promising soldiers discussed at Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff meeting – Zelenskyy

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, held the meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff on 17 March. Possible ways of strengthening brigades on the front, whose effective defence facilitates further active actions, were discussed.

Quote: "I held the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff meeting today. Main attention was paid to the battles in Donbas: in Avdiivka, Bakhmut, Vuhledar, Mariinka, Bilohorivka. Our soldiers deserve this attention so the ways of supporting our brigades and providing them with more strength, opportunities, armament and protection.

As always, the reports by chief commanders, Defence Intelligence, commanders of the fronts were heard, including General Syrskyi, Head of the Operative-Strategic Grouping of Forces Khortytsia; General Tarnavskyi, Head of the Tavriia grouping. These are the operative groupings that are fighting in Donbas.

I am thankful to every soldier, every sergeant, every officer – to everyone who is fighting in the front, everyone who is holding the defence with their stamina and courage. Thank you for your resilience and strength that make further defence operations and further action possible."

Details: Zelenskyy also thanked the members of special units.

"The Special Operations Forces – 8th regiment of the Special Operations Forces, thank you, guys, for your masterful combat with the enemy near the city of Bakhmut and strengthening our defence on this crucial front. I am grateful to all our Special Operations Forces' members who are defending Luhansk Oblast," the President stated.

The President separately thanked the navy seals and the Special Purpose Navy Centre for successful actions in the South of Ukraine, for making Russians suffer losses on the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia fronts, for their "powerful response" to the occupiers' attacks on the Ukrainian forces and cities.

 "I am expressing my gratitude to the members of the Security Service of Ukraine, to all our defenders from the Alpha unit, specifically from the Bili Vovky ["White Wolves" – ed.] and Kusto units. From the 13th Directorate of the Military Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine – thank you all!" Zelenskyy said.

"I am thankful to the members of the Defence Intelligence, to every soldier, every unit. I am grateful to the soldiers of our International legion, to all who feel the need to fight just like Ukrainians do," he added.
