As Zelenskyy noted, prior to the Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine in London, he held a discussion with von der Leyen regarding further financial support for Ukraine and the prospects for approving the 11th package of EU sanctions against Russia.

Furthermore, he mentioned that this week Kyiv anticipates the release of an interim oral assessment of Ukraine's progress in implementing the recommendations of the European Commission.

In turn, von der Leyen highlighted her conversation with the Ukrainian president, where they discussed "the EU's financial support beyond 2023 and the progress made by Ukraine on its reforms" with the Ukrainian president.

According to media reports, the preliminary oral assessment of Ukraine’s progress toward membership, which the European Commission will provide on June 22, will indicate that Ukraine has fully implemented two of the seven recommendations related to judicial reform and media legislation.

It is important to highlight that the assessment of the EU generally aligns with the assessment of Ukrainian civil society, where the criteria regarding judicial reform and media legislation were highly rated; in addition, notable progress has been achieved in the field of judicial reform with the recent formation of the High Qualification Commission of Judges.
