Inspection of military enlistment officers: Zelenskyy says results are disappointing

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said he is disappointed with the preliminary results of an inspection of military enlistment officers.

Quote from Zelenskyy: "Today, I was presented with some preliminary results of the inspection of other ‘military commissars’ [enlistment officers] besides the former one from Odesa [Yevhen Borysov, who has been revealed by Ukrainska Pravda to own property worth millions of dollars in Spain - ed.]. And the results are disappointing. Of course, law enforcement officers will implement them in a legal manner, and society will see everything."

Details: Zelenskyy emphasised that military enlistment officers and officials who think "it is possible to brazen it out somewhere in the rear" will have no place in Ukraine’s peaceful life after the war.

"We’re going to win this war that Russia started. And we’re going to win for Ukraine the kind of public life that will be worthy of our heroic defenders, of everyone who is now giving all their strength to defence. There is no place for the unworthy in such a life," Zelenskyy emphasised.

Background: President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief on 23 June, where he gave an urgent order for a commission to be set up under the leadership of General Pavliuk, First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, together with the law enforcement unit and the National Agency of Corruption Prevention. The commission will be inspecting all military enlistment officers in all regions of Ukraine, so that they do not discredit the Ukrainian state and the memory of the heroes who die at the front.
