High-rise building on fire because of strike in Kryvyi Rih

A high-rise building caught fire in Kryvyi Rih due to a night attack by the Russians.

Quote from Lysak: "An explosion occurred in Kryvyi Rih overnight. A high-rise building caught fire because of the strike. The fire was extinguished. The blast wave damaged the facades of three high-rise buildings."

Details: Vilkul added that many windows and doors in other high-rise buildings, as well as in a school and a kindergarten, were damaged.

However, no casualties were reported.

"An emergency response headquarters has been set up at the school (there is only one school in this microdistrict, and residents are well aware of its location). There will be a distribution of building materials - film, oriented strand boards, rail, etc. – starting at 09:00, as well as the reception of applications for damaged property and material assistance from the city budget," Vilkul said.

Serhii Lysak added that a Russian UAV was shot down over the oblast in the morning.

In addition, the Russians had been attacking the Nikopol district twice since the evening of 18 September. Artillery was used to attack Nikopol and Marhanets hromadas. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a town, village or several villages and their adjacent territories].

A 71-year-old man was injured; he is in hospital in a moderate condition.

In addition, six private buildings, an outbuilding and a garage were damaged. Power lines and a gas pipeline were damaged.
