Defence Forces continue offensive south of Bakhmut – General Staff report

The Ukrainian General Staff has reported on further offensive actions by the Defence Forces south of the city of Bakhmut and the consolidation by defenders of positions in recaptured territories.

Details: Over the past day, Russia launched six missile strikes and 76 air strikes and carried out 60 attacks from multiple-launch rocket systems on the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements. Civilians were injured and killed as a result of the Russian terrorist attacks. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged.

Over 29 combat clashes took place during the past day.

On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, Russia carried out mortar and artillery attacks on more than 20 settlements, including Buchky, Karpovychi, and Prohres in Chernihiv Oblast; Druzhba, Sytne, Nova Huta, Romashkove, Buhor, and Malushyne in Sumy Oblast; and Udy, Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Hatyshche, Ohirtseve, Vilkhuvatka and Ternova in Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Kupiansk front, Russia launched an air strike near Budarok in Kharkiv Oblast. More than 15 settlements came under Russian artillery attacks.

On the Lyman front, Russia conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in Novoiehorivka and Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast. Russia carried out air strikes in Bilohorivka (Luhansk Oblast), and Yampolivka, and Spirne (Donetsk Oblast). More than 15 settlements came under Russian artillery attacks.

On the Bakhmut front, Ukrainian defenders continue to conduct offensive operations south of Bakhmut, gaining a foothold on the lines reached. Attacks by Russian troops in the area north of Klishchiivka in Donetsk Oblast, were successfully repelled. Russia launched an air strike near Ivanivske in Donetsk Oblast. More than 15 settlements came under Russian artillery attacks.

On the Avdiivka front, Russia launched an air strike near Avdiivka. Russia continues to launch artillery and mortar attacks on settlements, including Oleksandropil, Novokalynove, Keramik, Avdiivka, Sieverne, Nevelske, and Pervomaiske in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Marinka front, the Ukrainian Defence Forces continue to restrain the offensive of Russian troops in the Marinka area. Russia launched an air strike near Krasnohorivka. The settlements of Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Maksymilianivka, Hostre and Novomykhailivka in  Donetsk Oblast were attacked by artillery.

On the Shakhtarsk front, Russia launched air strikes in Vuhledar, Vodiane, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, and Urozhaine. More than ten settlements were attacked by artillery.

On the Zaporizhzhia front, Russia launched air strikes in the areas of Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Orikhiv, Preobrazhenka, Robotyne and Stepnohirsk in Zaporizhia Oblast.  More than 20 settlements came under Russian artillery attacks.

On the Kherson front, Russia launched air strikes in Tiahynka and Molodizhne. Olhivka and Burhunka in Kherson Oblast came under artillery and mortar attacks.

Meanwhile, the Defence Forces of Ukraine are continuing to conduct an offensive operation on the Melitopol front, consolidate their positions, and carry out counter-battery warfare measures.

Ukrainian Defence Forces’ aircraft carried out 11 strikes during the day on areas where Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated, and 2 on Russian anti-aircraft missile systems.

Rocket Forces and Artillery attacked 11 artillery pieces at their firing positions and 4 Russian command posts during the day.
