Quote: "This time, the Novocherkassk landing ship has met the same fate as the Moskva cruiser, the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet."

Details: Oleshchuk thanked Air Force pilots and "everyone who was involved" for their "high-precision work".

Previously: Explosions rang out in the vicinity of Feodosiia in Russian-occupied Crimea around 03:00 on 26 December. It was claimed that a Russian ship carrying Iranian munitions had been blown up, causing a fire in the port.

Update: Earlier, the Defence Forces of Ukraine's South reported that the Novocherkassk landing ship is a Project 775 warship built by socialist Poland for the USSR from 1975 to 1991 and designed for conducting operations in the ocean.

It is noted that the Kostiantyn Olshanskyi, a Ukrainian vessel similar to this one, was seized by Russian forces in Crimea in 2014.

The first attempt to attack the Novocherkassk occurred on 24 March 2022, in the port of occupied Berdiansk.
