Ukrainian defenders drive Russians out of some positions near Verbove – General Staff

Ukrainian troops have forced the Russians to retreat from some positions near Verbove in Zaporizhzhia Oblast and prevented them from breaking through their defences on the Avdiivka and Kupiansk fronts.

Details: On the Zaporizhzhia front, Ukraine's Defence Forces repelled an attack by Russian forces near Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia Oblast). Ukrainian troops advanced in the area of Verbove, forcing the Russians to abandon some positions.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia Operational Strategic Group on the Kupiansk front, Ukrainian defenders repelled seven Russian attacks near Synkivka and east of  Petropavlivka (Kharkiv Oblast), where the Russians unsuccessfully tried to break through Ukrainian troops’ defences.

On the Bakhmut front, Ukrainian soldiers repelled six attacks by the Russians near Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka and Andriivka (Donetsk Oblast).

In the area of responsibility of the Tavriia Operational Strategic Group on the Avdiivka front, Ukrainian defenders continue to restrain the Russian forces, who keep trying to encircle Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the Russians. Ukrainian defenders repelled 8 Russian attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Berdychi and Avdiivka, and 16 more near Pervomaiske and Nevelske (Donetsk Oblast). Ukrainian defenders improved their tactical position northeast of Novobakhmutivka. 

On the Kherson front, Ukrainian soldiers are continuing to take measures to expand their bridgehead. Despite significant losses, the Russians kept trying to drive Ukrainian units from their positions. During the past day, the Russian forces made nine unsuccessful assault actions.  

Quote: "Over the course of the past day, 57 combat engagements took place. In total, the Russians carried out 89 missile strikes, 72 airstrikes, including attacks with Shahed-136/131 drones, and 48 attacks from multiple-launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas."

More details: It is reported that the Ukrainian Defence Forces continue to actively inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the Russian forces, exhausting them along the entire line of contact.

Over the past 24 hours, Ukraine's Air Force struck 12 clusters of Russian military personnel, weapons and equipment.  

Ukraine’s Rocket Forces and Artillery units hit two clusters of Russian military personnel, weapons and equipment, three anti-aircraft missile systems, two command posts, an artillery piece, a radar station and a fuel storage point belonging to the Russians.
