Russian state-controlled media report that in the Belgorod region, another missile was spotted that was allegedly launched from Ukraine.

Details: Russian media claim that the missile supposedly launched from Ukraine’s territory landed in the village of Nikolskoye, Belgorod Region; no casualties or damage were reported.

The local emergency services said that "a clap-like sound was heard, no other information is available."

Background:

  • In the morning of 1 April, the Russian media reported on the fire at an oil repository in Belgorod, which is close to the Ukrainian border.
  • The Governor of Belgorod Region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, stated that the fire had been caused by an air strike from two Ukrainian army helicopters that flew over Russian territory at low altitude.
  • The press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitriy Peskov, stated that the explosion at the oil repository in Belgorod does not help create conditions conducive to the continuation of negotiations between the two countries.
