According to Kamyshin: "At 06:45 today [27 April] there was another strike on that same bridge over the Dnister estuary in Odesa Region.

There are no casualties among railway workers.

We will be able to estimate the extent of infrastructural damage after the all-clear is sounded."

Background:

  • On 26 April Russian troops carried out a missile strike on Odesa Region, which damaged a bridge over the Dnister estuary in Zatoka. A reversible lane was later opened on the bridge [to facilitate the flow of traffic].
  • Maksym Marchenko, Head of Odesa Regional Military Administration, said that the bridge strike might have been part of Russia’s attempt to cut off part of Odesa Region [from the rest of Ukraine] and create tension amid the explosions in the unrecognised republic of Transnistria in Moldova, where Russia’s "peace-keeping" corps is stationed.
