Details: Russian propagandists later reported that one casualty had died of his injuries in the ambulance. Three others were injured.

According to Gladkov, this is the "worst case of shelling" in recent times, and one house was allegedly destroyed.

Eyewitnesses shared photos and videos of smoke on the site of the village on social media, but Gladkov claimed that this was due to reeds being burned on the outskirts of the village, and the houses and village were not on fire.

Background:

  •  In late April, Mykhailo Podoliak, Adviser to the Head of the President's Office, said that the sounds of "claps" heard by residents of Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk Oblasts in the sky could be "divine intervention" rather than an action by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
  • On the morning of 27 April, Vyacheslav Gladkov, Governor of Russia’s Belgorod Oblast, reported that at 3.35 am he had been "woken up by a loud sound similar to an explosion". He later found out that an ammunition depot was on fire near the village of Staraya Nelidovka. There are no civilian casualties. There is no damage to residential buildings or houses.
