Kharkiv region: occupiers have already killed 37 children

Russian invaders in the Kharkiv region have already killed at least 37 children and injured 108. Only in the past two days one child was killed and three were injured.

Quote from the prosecutor's office: "Innocent victims of war: as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation in the Kharkiv region, 37 children were killed, another 108 were injured.

In particular, on 25 May, the occupiers shelled Balakliya city, as a result of which 10 people were injured, including a 9-year-old child, and two more men were killed.

In addition, on 26 May, as a result of the shelling of the Shevchenko District of Kharkiv killed 8 civilians, among them ­- a 5-month-old baby. 17 people were injured, including a 9-year-old girl."  

 

Details: The prosecutor's office also added that the occupiers are systematically trying to destroy the civilian infrastructure of the region.

Due to regular bombing and shelling by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, 222 educational institutions were damaged in Kharkiv, and 68 in the region. Four schools and four kindergartens were completely destroyed. 

 

This data is not final, as it is not possible to inspect the places after shelling in areas of active hostilities and in the temporarily occupied territories.

Background: 

  • On 26 May the Russian occupying forces were shelling Kharkiv; 9 people were killed as a result. 
  • As of 26 May, more than 676 children have been affected in Ukraine as a result of the Russian Federation's full-scale armed aggression, with at least 240 children killed and more than 436 injured.
