Quote from Haidai: "Today, when peaceful civilians in Lysychansk were collecting water from a tanker that was brought there, the Russians attacked the assembled crowd with Uragan MLRS [multiple launch rocket systems - ed.]."

Details: Two teenage boys, aged 14 and 15, are among the civilians killed in the attack.

Of the wounded, 16 were evacuated to hospitals in other oblasts of Ukraine. Another five remained in Lysychansk after having received medical attention.

Background:

  • Earlier, Haidai has reported that there is "not an hour" when the Russian artillery is not firing on Lysychansk’s residential buildings. The Luhansk Oblast Military Administration continues to ask local residents to evacuate as a matter of urgency.
  • Local officials continue to insist that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have no intention to withdraw from Lysychansk.
  • On 27 June, Russian missiles hit a shopping mall in Kremenchuk, in Poltava Oblast; there were over 1,000 civilians there at the moment of the attack. As of the evening of 27 June, 13 people have been confirmed dead and over 40 wounded.
  • Russian forces also fired on residential neighbourhoods in Kharkiv on 27 June. The Kharkiv Military Administration reported that at least five people were killed and over 20 wounded as a result of Russian artillery attacks.
