At least 2 explosions rang out in the centre of the capital on the morning of 10 October, causing casualties and fatalities. Metro traffic on the red line has been suspended.

Quote from Klychko: "Several explosions [have occurred] in the Shevchenkivskyi neighbourhood - in the centre of the capital. All services are at the scene. Details later."

Quote from Vodolaha: "Unfortunately, there are casualties and fatalities at the various points of impact."

Details: Vodolaha said at least 20 people sustained injuries as a result of Russian missile strikes on the city of Kyiv on the morning of 10 October.

Ukrainska Pravda correspondents report that ambulances have "rushed" to the scene of the explosions.

Air-raid sirens have been sounded throughout Ukraine on the morning of 10 October.

As of 09.15, Ukrainska Pravda correspondents report that explosions have been heard in different neighbourhoods of the city.

Oleksii Kuleba, Head of Kyiv Oblast Military Administration, reported that the air defence system is operating in Kyiv Oblast. He urged all residents to remain in shelters.

The metro reported that the movement of trains on the red line is suspended, while all underground stations are operating as shelters.
