Explosions in Kyiv Oblast, air defence downs 6 missiles, casualties reported

Explosions rang out in Kyiv Oblast. Ukraine’s air defence shot down several missiles. Several local residents sustained injuries; fatalities are reported, too.

Quote: "Kyiv Oblast! The enemy continues to attack peaceful cities. Air defence has been activated throughout most of Kyiv Oblast. Several missiles have been shot down. Private homes have been hit in two hromadas [administrative units designating a town or a village and their adjacent territories - ed.]. There are casualties."

Details: Kuleba added that relevant services were working at the scene.

He called on local residents to remain in shelters.

Anatolii Fedoruk, Bucha Mayor has reported that six missiles were downed over Bucha hromada. 

Quote by Fedoruk: "2 missiles [were shot down] between the villages of Zdvyzhivka and Borodianka (the remnants of the missiles landed in a forest). 4 missiles [were shot down] near the villages of Syniak and Havrylivka (the remnants landed in a forest)."

Details: According to the mayor, air defence is working. There is no damage to the infrastructure, there are no casualties.

Kuleba and Fedoruk urged residents to remain in shelters.

Update: At 11:30, Kuleba reported that there were strikes on three districts of Kyiv Oblastthe occupiers struck critical and civilian infrastructure. There are people under the rubble. There are casualties among the civilian population.

The head of the Kyiv Oblast Military Administration warned that there could be disruptions to communication, electricity and water supply, and urged residents to take care of charged phones, power banks and stock up on water.

  • Several explosions rang out in the centre of Kyiv on the morning of 10 October, causing casualties and fatalities. Metro traffic on the red line has been suspended.
