Up to 1,000  Russian military personnel permanently stationed in Belarus – Commander of Ukraine’s Joint Forces

Serhii Naiev, Lieutenant General and the Commander of the Joint Forces of Ukraine has said that 1,000 Russian servicemen, 6 aircraft, 4 Iskander tactical missile launchers and twelve S-400 air defence systems are constantly stationed on the territory of Belarus.

Quote from Naiev: "Currently, there are servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces on the territory of Belarus. The approximate number is up to 1,000 people. There are also six Russian attack aircraft, four Iskander operational tactical missile systems, and twelve S-400 air defence systems.

Measures are being taken to prepare the airfield network and appropriate infrastructure for the deployment of the forces of the Russian Federation at their base on the territory of Belarus."

Details: According to the Belarusian partisans, the Russian troops are about to arrive at local training grounds.

In particular, the National Resistance Centre received information from Belarusian partisans that the formation of echelons for the Belarusian training grounds is being completed at the Ilyino station in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia. In particular:

  • Two echelons consisting of 9 passenger cars (up to 500 rank-and-file men in total) and 4 covered cars, as well as 84 platforms with equipment are supposed to head for the Obuz-Lesnovsky training ground (Brest Oblast);
  • Four passenger cars (up to 220 rank-and-file men in total) and 42 platforms with equipment are to depart to the Lepelsky training ground (Vitebsk Oblast);
  • Two passenger cars (110 rank-and-file men in total) and two covered wagons, as well as 40 platforms with equipment will go to the Losvydo training ground (Vitebsk Oblast).

The estimated date of arrival of Russian troops at the specified Belarusian training grounds is 18-20 October.

Recently, the movement of Belarusian military equipment was recorded from the territory of Belarus bound for Russia. The Belarusian government explained that the equipment was allegedly sent for modernisation.

At the same time, Iranian-made Shahed drones are being sent en masse from Russia to Belarus.
