Air-raid siren sounded throughout Ukraine for 1.5 hours: fighters were airborne in Belarus

On the morning of 19 January, an air-raid siren was announced throughout Ukraine.

Details: At 10:12, sirens began to sound in the country's southeast, then in the capital, and finally spread over the entire territory of the country within a few minutes.

An alarm indicates the threat of missile strikes and air strikes. It is highly recommended that civilians proceed to a shelter.

Belaruski Hajun [an independent Belarusian military monitoring media outlet] reports that fighters and an AWACS aircraft have taken off in Belarus.

In particular, an A-50 AWACS jet of the Russian Aerospace Forces with the registration number RF-50608 took off from Machulishchy airfield at 09:58; two MiG-31K fighters of the Russian Air Force followed. 

The analytical project reports that since the very morning, an increase in air activity has been recorded in Belarus, as the second stage of Joint Tactical Flight exercises of the Armed Forces of Russia and Belarus has begun.

Now, the aviation units have started performing their tasks, Russian Aerospace Forces helicopter flights are being recorded over Belarus, and fighters have also performed their training flights in the area of Baranavichy. 

Updated: At 11:48 air-raid sirens began to be cancelled. The danger lasted a little more than 1.5 hours.

Belaruski Hajun reported that the fighter jets landed in Machulishchy.
