President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has met with Valerii Markus, a sergeant major in the 47th Separate Mechanised Brigade Mahura, to discuss the reform of the sergeant corps.

Details: Zelenskyy also stressed the importance of introducing changes that would help improve service conditions in the Ukrainian army.

Specifically, they discussed digitalisation and the introduction of automated record-keeping systems that would reduce paperwork and promptly facilitate information receipt.

Background: Valerii Markus, a sergeant major in the 47th Separate Mechanised Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, described 24 hours of assaults and a night spent with the dead bodies of Russian invaders, only for Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi to reprimand him for taking off his body armour.
