Quote: "We condemn all anti-Semitism in the strongest possible terms. The European Commission has taken many steps to support efforts to combat anti-Semitism. I believe there can be no doubt about that," said de Keersmaecker, commenting on the pogroms involving the search for Jews at the Makhachkala airport.

  • Earlier, NATO said the riots in Dagestan's Makhachkala airport yesterday, 29 October, were unfavourable to the Kremlin and were a manifestation of Russian society's radicalisation.
  • Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated that the events at the Makhachkala airport in Russia are "deeply disturbing".
  • Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a large meeting with security forces, the prime minister and parliamentarians on Monday, 30 October, in response to the Makhachkala riots.
