It's a tough situation, but Ukrainian forces continue to make progress – US State Department

The US State Department has said that despite the difficult situation at the front due to the positional entrenchment of Russian troops, the Ukrainian Defence Forces are continuing to make progress.

Quote: "Certainly with respect to the battlefield, it’s a tough situation. The Ukrainian forces are fighting against very entrenched – the very entrenched Russian military. We’ve seen them [the Ukrainian Armed Forces – ed.]  make progress."

"The progress has been difficult, but we have seen them continue to make progress. 

And when we were in Brussels last week, we spoke directly with the foreign minister of Ukraine about this matter."
