Ukrainian Armed Forces liberate 454 settlements in Kharkiv Oblast, peacetime returning there

The Ukrainian military liberated 454 settlements from the Russian occupiers in Kharkiv Oblast; now they are restoring the work of the police, banks, shops, and schools there.

Quote from Tymoshenko: "Kharkiv Oblast. Thanks to the offensive actions of the Ukrainian military in the region, 454 settlements have been liberated. To date, 14 police departments have resumed their work in the liberated territories of the oblast, 90 educational institutions have imposed distance learning, and 78 paramedic stations, 23 local self-government bodies, and 10 branches of Ukrposhta [Ukrainian State Post Service] have started working".

Details: Tymoshenko also reported that 6 mobile connection towers, 27 gas supply facilities and 23 electricity supply facilities have started working in Kharkiv Oblast.

In particular, in Balakliia, electricity supply has now been restored for more than 11,000 consumers (77% of the city's residents), and in the near future, power will be restored to the hospital, polyclinic, central boiler house, schools, treatment facilities and water intake.

Also, new Privatbank [Ukrainian State Bank] ATMs and terminals will soon be operational in Balakliia, and preparations for the opening of a bank branch in the village of Zolochiv are underway.

Tymoshenko said that an agreement on the use of bank cards on mobile terminals was reached - so people will be able to make payments and receive cash. In addition, they are currently working with pharmacies and supermarkets so that they can issue cash to residents at cash registers.

The Deputy Head of the President's Office also reported that emergency repair works are ongoing in Kharkiv and Oblast: replacement of windows and doors, repair of roofs, facades, and engineering communications.

The local government is compiling lists of residents' needs for grocery kits, hygiene and baby products.

Tymoshenko said that suburban trains connecting Kharkiv – Balakliia – Kharkiv, Kharkiv – Derhachi – Kharkiv and Kharkiv – Chuhuiv – Kharkiv are already operating, and temporary crossings have been set up in place of bridges that have been destroyed.

Previously: On 27 September, Oleh Syniehubov, the Head of the Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration, confirmed that the village of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, located on the eastern shore of the Oskil River, has been liberated.

Background: On 14 September, Hanna Maliar, the Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, reported that since 6 September, Ukrainian troops managed to liberate an estimated 388 settlements and 150,000 people in Kharkiv Oblast.
