More than 170 engagements took place between Ukrainian and enemy troops on these fronts over the past week."

Details: Maliar said that the Russians tried to conduct assaults and look for weaknesses in the Ukrainian defence on the Kupiansk front. In particular, they were actively advancing in the areas south of Novoselivske. The Russians wanted to push Ukrainian units beyond the Oskil River barrier but were unsuccessful. Maliar emphasised that the Defence Forces are holding back the Russian troops.

On the Lyman front, the Russians tried to push Ukrainian troops out of Serebrianka Forest, but to no avail.

On the Bakhmut front, the Russian invaders tried their best to stop the Ukrainian offensive for a week, but the defenders gradually advanced and liberated 2 square kilometres over the course of the week.

In total, as Maliar stated, the area liberated on the Bakhmut front is 37 square kilometres.

On the Avdiivka and Marinka fronts, the occupiers tried to advance to establish full control over Marinka and encircle Avdiivka, but were unsuccessful.

In the south, the Ukrainian Defence Forces continue to advance on the Melitopol and Berdiansk fronts. Maliar stressed that the defenders were successful in the areas of Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, and Ukrainian troops are consolidating their positions.

The defenders liberated 12.6 square kilometres over the week. In total, Ukraine's defenders have already recaptured 204.7 square kilometres in the south. Mine clearance activities are currently underway in these areas.

Background: On 27 July, it was reported that the Ukrainian Defence Forces had liberated the village of Staromaiorske in Donetsk Oblast.
