State Bureau of Investigation detains head of occupation "police" in liberated Balakliia

As the city of Kupiansk, Kharkiv Oblast was liberated from Russian invaders, employees of the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) detained the so-called head of the occupation "police'' in the city of Balakliia; shortly before that, the puppet "police chief" was dismissed from his office.

Quote: "While processing information about possible cooperation in the liberated territories between local law enforcement officers and the invaders, employees of the State Bureau of Investigation, together with the military counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine and with the assistance of the Main Department of the National Police in Kharkiv Oblast, managed to quickly identify the traitor who headed the so-called police station of the occupying authorities in Balakliia.

Previously, the traitor was one of the leaders of the Balakliia police, and when the invaders came, he volunteered to cooperate with them. For this, he received the position of head of the occupational Department."

Details: The State Bureau of Investigation reported that after the Armed Forces of Ukraine had ejected the invaders from Balakliia, the traitor decided to flee to the so-called "LPR", but did not have the time to do so. Thus, he was detained in the city of Kupiansk.

Now a court is to inform the traitor that he is under suspicion and to choose a preventive measure. Procedural guidance is provided by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

• On 8 September, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the information about the liberation of the city of Balakliia by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
• On 9 September, the police announced that they had started performing their official duties in the Kharkiv Oblast's de-occupied territories and asked residents to report on the crimes of Russian invaders and collaborators. The DBR reported about the start of filtration measures and investigative actions in Balakliia.
• On 9 September, a collaborator, the head of one of the liberated villages was detained in a liberated community in Kharkiv Oblast.
